Overview

Responsible for ensuring secure collateral for all collateralized loans in order to reduce overall risk to the credit union. Performs various tasks associated with acquisition, recording, correction, transfer, payoff and release of vehicle certificates of title, deeds of trust, final title, insurance policies and other security interest instruments. Ensures the timely receipt of accurate vehicle titles or other security interest instruments. Completes the timely release of titles and liens on loans that are paid in full.

 

Compensation

Minimum $ 42,000

Maximum $ 60,000

Applicant with ideal mix of abilities could anticipate $45,000 - $48,000

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of service, consistency and professionalism by delivering Harborstone Core Values to both internal and external members.
• Research and resolve internal and external member issues in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
• Contact dealers, financial institutions, and/or members within established service level agreements to obtain needed perfection documentation.
• Respond to in-person, email, or phone member requests for title information.
• Manages and maintains document retention.
• Process titles for paid off loans.
• Process title work and UCC filings coming in from branches.
• Deliver title work to the Department of Licensing for processing.
• Process title requests from the Collections department.

• Identify errors from quality control review and follow up with appropriate staff member to ensure that corrections are completed.
• Sort and process all incoming mail within a 24-hour period.
• Identify efficiency improvements in all operational aspects of the department.
• Recommend and help develop and implement new policies and procedures.
• Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of branch and organizational goals.
• Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate filing system.
• Serve as a lending point of contact for branches, dealers and communication center.
• Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
• Adhere to all related compliance requests and requirements.
• Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
• Complete all necessary testing for system releases and/or updates.
• Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to members and business partners.
• Strong relationship building and teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of Harborstone financial products and services.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to calculate APR, debt to income ratios, loan values, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidences.
• Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Certification:

 

• Three years' title processing of consumer loans in a financial institution preferred
• High school diploma
• Additional education and training preferred
