Overview

Provides general support in all areas of the Consumer Lending Department and ensures accuracy on all loan records and documents. Responsible for performing loan maintenance for all loan types including manual loan calculations and adjustments. Demonstrates compliance with all credit union regulations for assigned job functions and designated job responsibilities. Identifies efficiency improvements in all operational aspects of the department. Identifies, recommends and participates in the implementation of procedures and workflow improvements for all department processes. Provide superior service to internal and external members and promote member relationships that exceed expectations.

 

Compensation

Minimum $ 42,000

Maximum $ 60,000

Applicant with ideal mix of abilities could anticipate $45,000 - $48,000

Responsibilities

Provide an exceptional experience to our members and staff in alignment with Harborstone's core values.
• Consistently meet daily department demands and promote member satisfaction, retention and expansion.
• Serve as a lending point of contact for branches and communication center.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all consumer loan criteria as well as all current credit union policies and procedures.
• Research and resolve internal and external member issues in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
• Assist in reviewing current processes, procedures, and policies in order to identify and recommend improvements.
• Perform monthly audits on consumer loans to ensure that all policy requirements were met.
• Complete MLA monitoring, SCRA, and Soldiers & Sailors Act compliance.
• Perform complex research requiring problem solving using knowledge of loan products.
• Perform loan maintenance (hand posting and payment adjustments for all loan types).
• Review month end reconciliations and loan maintenance reports.
• Maintain accurate reporting, appropriate tracking and measurement of department activity and results.
• Balance and reconcile loan accounting general ledgers.
• Recommend, help develop and implement new policies and procedures.
• Complete all necessary testing for new system releases and/or updates.
• Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate filing system.
• Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
• Adhere to all related compliance requests and requirements.
• Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to members and business partners.
• Strong relationship building and teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of Harborstone financial products and services.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to calculate APR, debt to income ratios, loan values, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidences.
• Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

Required Experience/Education:
• Three years' consumer loan operations experience in a financial institution preferred
• High school diploma
• Additional education and training preferred
