Compensation:
Minimum - $29.26
Maximum - $41.80
Placement in the pay scale will be determined by experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do:
· Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of consumer loan underwriters

Position Summary
The Consumer Loan Underwriting Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the Consumer Lending department by leading the daily operations of the underwriting team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant credit decisions across all consumer loan products. This position is responsible for coaching and developing underwriters, overseeing workflow and decision quality, and supporting escalations and complex credit scenarios. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, deep underwriting expertise, and the ability to reinforce consistent decision quality and member advocacy. This role reports directly to the Consumer Loan Underwriting Manager and collaborates closely with branches, eLoans, vendors, dealer partners, internal lending teams and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with Harborstone’s mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and Develop Underwriting Staff
· Description: Mentor, coach, and develop underwriters through regular one‑on‑one meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback. Reinforce accountability, decision quality, and alignment with Harborstone’s Ten Essentials. Serve as a primary resource for underwriting guidance and troubleshooting.
2. Oversee Workflow, Quality, and Operational Performance
· Description: Manage daily underwriting workflow, workload distribution, and service‑level performance. Ensure procedures remain accurate and up to date. Lead process improvements, system testing, and adoption of new tools and workflows to enhance efficiency and member experience.
3. Support Credit Decisioning and Risk Management
· Description: Provide secondary review and oversight of loan decisions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and policy alignment. Coach underwriters on risk assessment and decision rationale. Monitor trends in application quality, decision outcomes, and risk indicators to inform leadership.

· High school diploma, Essential
2. Experience:
· 3 years of consumer loan underwriting experience in a financial institution, Essential
· 1 year of leadership experience, Essential
3. Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Essential
· Knowledge of LOS systems and lending platforms, Preferred
4. Soft Skills:
· Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, Essential

· Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), or the ability to obtain it within the first 90 days, Essential
